Introduction:

Since 2012, the Kadam Education Initiative (KEI) has been dedicated to uplifting underprivileged girls in Ahmedabad through the Kadam Resource Centre for Girls (KRCG). This program provides educational, vocational, and life-skill building opportunities to girls who are at risk of dropping out of school due to poverty, family, and community pressures. Many of these girls have experienced trauma, including abuse, violence, and abandonment, making the support and safe space provided by KEI crucial for their development.

Kadam Resource Centre for Girls:

The KRCG offers a range of services including:

1.Educational support through remedial coaching and access to National Open School (NIOS) programs.

2.Vocational training in skills such as computer literacy, English communication, and health worker training.

3.Counseling services to help girls cope with trauma and build self-confidence.

4.Workshops on reproductive health, gender, leadership, and legal rights.

Volunteer Requirements:

KEI is seeking enthusiastic high school students to join our volunteer team. Volunteers will work on social media management and content creation for KEI

This role involves:

1.Developing and managing social media content to raise awareness about our initiatives and engage with the community.

2.Creating compelling stories and posts that highlight the impact of KEI's work.

3.Collaborating with our team to devise innovative ways to promote our cause.

Additional Details:

1.This is a virtual volunteering opportunity.

2. Volunteers will meet virtually once a week to discuss ongoing projects and initiatives.

Sahyadri Foundation is a renowned NGO working on issues affecting the urban and rural communities of Nagpur & Vidarbha region and working in Maharashtra, Chattisgarh & Goa. They are registered under Charity Commissioner, 12A, NITI Ayog & CSR-1. For the last 22 years of our existence, the organization has developed and implemented several innovative interventions with a special focus on halting and reversing HIV & AIDS.

Initiatives:

HIV & AIDS Prevention: Partnered with NACO & MSACS to halt and reverse HIV & AIDS.

Support for Urban Homeless & Elderly: Urban Homeless & Old Age Home Shelter with DAY-NULM & NMC.

Beggars Rehabilitation: Collaborated with the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, New Delhi.

Education Initiatives: Education for poor & drop-out children through the Firte Pathak Bus pilot project with the Government of Maharashtra.

Mobile Computer Education: Provided fully furnished mobile computer education to NMC students under CSR.

Menstrual Hygiene: Implemented a menstrual hygiene project with Aditya Birla Foundation.

Housing for BPL Families: Ramai Gharkul Housing project with NMC for BPL families.

COVID-19 Pandemic Support: Monetary support of Rs. 30,000 each to 3000 families during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Skill Training & Employment: Skill training and employment programs.

School Strengthening & Infrastructure Development: School strengthening and infrastructure development under CSR.

Watershed Projects: IWMP watershed projects with the Agriculture Department.

Forestation Work: Forestation CSR work with the Forest Department under a tripartite agreement.

Mental Health Care: Mental health care initiatives with Tata Trust.

Mobile Medical Unit: Free mobile medical unit facilities for migrants & labourers.

Health & Development Programs: Tobacco and cancer prevention, and health initiatives for children, women, adolescent girls, and boys.

KinderZone's social responsibility initiative is to support and give opportunities to our community youth to be socially responsible and be a part of the change that our world wants. These amazing volunteers, our social leaders, are sharing their passion and skills by bringing their peers, friends and other community children together and are giving back by helping kids from our community to learn, stay healthy, and enjoy themselves and they are also supporting causes that they care while developing their own leadership skills and creating impact.

Kinderzone has partnered with Neki, a social impact platform, that empowers organizations to do good through impact-driven activities and conversations.

We will be supporting non profits in their mission and our student volunteers will get virtual opportunities to help by learning about amazing work that these non profits do, interact with the team and make impact.

Kids managing a mini library not only promotes reading but also cultivates a passion for literature among younger generations. 2 kids from our community are organizing and hosting events like story time and read-alouds, Book reading ,fostering a love for books and social interaction. This initiative empowers children with organizational and leadership skills while building community bonds. By curating books and creating a welcoming space, they inspire a culture of learning and imagination within their neighborhood, enriching lives through shared stories and creativity.

Harmony of Hearts- A Music Concert:A kids' music concert supporting a school supplies drive not only showcases talent but also fosters community spirit and empathy. By organizing and performing, children inspire generosity and awareness about education's importance. This initiative cultivates teamwork, creativity, and leadership while teaching responsibility and the value of giving back.

Cards for a cause- An art workshop where kids create cards and artwork for senior citizens fosters creativity and compassion. Through their creations, children learn the joy of giving and the impact of thoughtful gestures on others' lives. This initiative encourages empathy and community engagement while nurturing artistic skills and appreciation. It also bridges generational gaps, fostering connections between youth and seniors through meaningful expressions of care and appreciation.

Participating in a beach cleanup event offers kids more than just a chance to tidy up. It's a hands-on lesson in environmental stewardship, teaching them about the impact of litter on marine life and ecosystems. Beyond cleaning, it fosters teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills as they work alongside others. It instills a sense of pride and accomplishment, encouraging responsible behavior and inspiring a lifelong commitment to protecting our planet. By volunteering, children not only contributed to a cleaner environment but also developed a deep appreciation for nature and sustainable habits that will shape their future positively.
