Visually impaired university students require Braille books to complete their degree. That is why Mitra Jyothi has built a special library, transforming regular university books into books the visually impaired can use. But they need your help. New field studies are opening, and new book editions are published frequently, leaving Mitra Jyoti’s library without basic books. Help these deserving young men and women who, against all odds, are trying to complete their university education. Mitra Jyothi is a remarkable organization that helps the visually impaired gain independence and lead dignified lives. Through Education, Training and Counseling, Mitra Jyothi helps integrate visually impaired into mainstream families and the society at large.
Other details:
We only need one copy of each book.
Once we receive the copy, we will transcribe the book into Braille and audio versions for the use of all students.
You can deliver each book individually or as part of a collection to Mitra Jyothi’s Office.

Brisa technologies makes a field visit to Mitra Jyothi Foundation, onboarding with Neki Foundation.
My heart fills with great joy to share with you all that, our Brisa Technologies team has again started the visits and outreach activities with new vigour and enthusiasm. This time we visited Mitra Jyothi Foundation in co-ordination with Neki to celebrate Christmas and New year with the amazing people of the foundation.
The foundation is home to around to 50 students and visually impaired women who receive college education and computer training in the guidance of the foundation. The foundation was established in 1990 by Ms Madhu Singhal, who is visually impaired herself with the aim to support the visually impaired through various programs like college education, computer and soft skill training etc. As a member of the DFI, it is also involved in production and distribution of books and reading materials in accessible formats for persons who cannot read normal print.
During our visit, we spent time with Ms Madhu Singhal (Founder, Mitra Jyothi), students and the residents at the foundation. We had the celebration of New Year with cake-cutting and distributed small token of gift to the residents. Becoming part of a prayer recital by the lovely folks of the organisation gave us plenty of energy and positivity that is worth keeping in our hearts as we are going into a new year. BRISA family is overjoyed to share with you all we'll continue to have similar kind of activities in future, and you're invited to volunteer for the same.
