Happy Women's Equality Day!
Every year on August 26th, we celebrate Women's Equality Day. This day commemorates the adoption of the Nineteenth Amendment in 1920, which granted women the right to vote in the United States—a monumental step in the fight for equality.
Since then, we've made significant progress, but the journey towards true equality is far from over. Even today, women continue to face challenges in securing basic rights like education—an essential foundation for empowerment and equality.
To truly achieve equality, we must provide women with opportunities free from gender discrimination, allowing them equal chances to learn, acquire skills, and enter diverse fields. This will, in turn, empower them to reach their full potential and contribute meaningfully to society
Black Girls Code is a one such organization making significant progress in this mission. They are dedicated to equipping Black girls with the skills, opportunities, and resources needed to succeed in tech. Their mission is to empower these young women, ensuring they know they belong in the tech industry. Through partnerships with schools, companies, local organizations, and dedicated volunteers, they offer a range of in-person and virtual learning experiences that build the skills and relationships these girls need to thrive.
Join their mission and help these girls achieve their dreams and take a step towards equality!
